Today’s affirmation: I am making my dreams come true.
I used to think that daydreaming was just something to do when I wanted to avoid reality. Something people did when they were laying on a beach somewhere while on vacation.
It was a fun exercise to do when you wanted to imagine where your life could go, but surely it would never become reality.
You decide it should be your reality.
I’ve spent most of the past month both working hard and dreaming big.
Dreaming about where I want to go. Dreaming about the life I want to live, the places I want to visit, the experiences I want to give my kids.
It’s been fun as dreams should be but here’s the big reason why I do it.
It’s part of self-improvement.
And mot just because it makes me happy.
My dreams tell me my values, my hopes, where I’d like to go in life. They point to the places I want to go and the person I want to be.
Sure they can be just for fun or they can be be a road map for the life you’ve always wanted to live.
My dreams give me purpose. They give me direction and places to grow.
I know I need to grow in financial maturity if I ever want us to buy the house I dream of. I know I need to grow in expanding my comfort zone if I ever want to travel outside the U.S. I know I need to get my business off the ground if I ever want to change the world.
Dreams are a means for growth. And if we’re not growing we’re staying still. And if we’re staying still we’re probably bored with our lives.
I don’t want to be bored.
I want to challenge myself.
Make your dreams into your reality.
