Today’s affirmation: My day begins and ends with gratitude and joy.
I caught up with one of my best friends last night. It had been a super long time and I forgot how much I missed her.
You know that feeling?
It’s like when you haven’t had your favorite food in a long time. When you finally get the chance to eat it again, all the missing comes back and reminds you how much was lacking from your life.
That’s how it was.
Her laughter and support and just her-ness had been deeply lacking in my life.
As a stay-at-home mom things can pretty isolating at times. And then I get so used to the isolation that I forget how good it feels to be connected, be a part of someone else’s life.
This, dear friends, is why I encourage all of you to pick up the phone and call your best friend. Or, better yet, go see them if you can.
Being known, being loved unconditionally, being around people that “get you” is so, so good for self-care and our well-being.
Knowing that you belong somewhere and have a soft place to land if you fall gives you strength and bravery to go after what you want in life because you know there’s always going to be someone in your corner.
Pick up the phone and give them a call.
